Deep Design: Architecture for a New Earth
Spring 2020, things fell apart just a few days before I was scheduled to do this interview for a conference called Awakening Utopia. The world stopped and shut down in reaction to the viral outbreak of a deadly disease known as COVID-19, and the conference became about something much more real, Emergence and Empowerment in … Continue reading Deep Design: Architecture for a New Earth

New Nature: Architecture + Geodesign
In 2015 I graduated with a Masters of Science in Geodesign and a whole new vision for the practice of sustainable development. I'd gained the technology and skills to implement ways of living and building in harmony with the Earth, in what I called at the time, New Nature. This type of ecological, zero waste, … Continue reading New Nature: Architecture + Geodesign

Rooting the Divine on Earth
Rooting the Divine on Earth is the story of a trip to Roots Gathering, an event at the permaculture farm called Punta Mona on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. The gathering was filled with conscious and intentional pioneers, builders of the New Earth. I found connection as a professional change-maker, one who is leading the charge towards a sustainable future, but I also found much more, a spiritual experience unlike any other. We need spirituality in order to make lasting change to the trajectory of the human collective. Here's what that means to me.
The Elevator, A Poem
This poem explores how forgotten spaces like the elevator can catalyze social transformation as well as healing at the individual level. This is an idea that dances along the lines of mindfulness and spirituality where they intersect with architecture and urbanism.
Healing Humanity With Elemental Wisdom
This piece contains some intuitive guidance I received from the Earth (Gaia) for healing humanity. It takes the form of elemental wisdom explored in a practical and philosophical approach to healing for humans and humanity using an integral, multiscalar approach. This study first looks at the seen and unseen aspects of healing using each of the four elements, and then using each element as a lens compares healing both on the scale of the human body and the societal body.
How I Got Here
Do you have a dream or a profession that makes you swoon with joy? Or is there an ikigai that you hold dear? I do, and this is part of the story of how I came to find mine... When my grandmother died, I was ready for it, even though she was the first relative … Continue reading How I Got Here
Architects, a Call to Action.
We need to start building a future lived in love, now. Conscious of our role as stewards of a unique and precious planet, our actions must be motivated by a love of life, and at the very lease a respect for survival. In the future, cities will produce energy instead of consume it, emit clean air … Continue reading Architects, a Call to Action.
